Abstract
A mobile device may include a plurality of hardware devices. The physical devices may be virtualized to enable efficient access and utilization. Furthermore, the mobile device may support containerization of applications executed by the hardware devices. The virtualized physical devices may be provided to various containers executed by the mobile device. Furthermore, a priority mechanism may be used to manage container access to the physical devices.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- obtaining a request, for a physical hardware resource, from a container through a virtual hardware interface of a device hosting the container, the request including priority information;
- placing the request in a first data structure of a plurality of data structures based at least in part on the priority information, wherein the plurality of data structures are organized according to priority;
- and
- processing the request according to its placement among the plurality of data structures.
A system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory that includes instructions that, if executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:
- expose a virtual hardware interface to a container;
- obtain, at the virtual hardware interface, a request from the container;
- determine a priority associated with the request based at least in part on information in the request;
- place the request in a first data structure according to a priority of the data structure among at least one other data structure;
- and
- process the request according to its priority.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon executable instructions that, as a result of being executed by one or more processors of a computer system, cause the computer system to at least:
- provide, to a container, a set of virtual hardware interfaces associated with a set of physical hardware elements, where a virtual hardware interface of the set of virtual hardware interfaces enables the container to access a particular physical hardware element of the set of physical hardware elements;
- obtain, at the virtual hardware interface, a request from the container;
- determine a priority associated with the request based at least in part on information associated with the request;
- and
- process the request from a data structure of a plurality of prioritized data structures.
