Abstract
A woodwind instrument reed is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction. The reed includes a resin matrix containing a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component, and a layered mineral dispersed in the resin matrix. A method for producing a woodwind instrument reed that is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction includes charging a composition for forming the reed into a cavity of a mold from a longitudinal end on a side opposite to the vamp to be formed. The composition contains a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component, and a layered mineral.

A woodwind instrument reed that is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction, the woodwind instrument reed comprising:
- a resin matrix comprising a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component;
- and
- a layered mineral dispersed in the resin matrix.
A method for producing a woodwind instrument reed that is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction, the method comprising:
- charging a composition for forming the reed into a cavity of a mold from a longitudinal end on a side opposite to the vamp to be formed, the composition comprising a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component, and a layered mineral.
