Abstract
Provided are methods, including computer-implemented methods, devices, and computer-program products applying systems and methods for facility matching and localization. According to some embodiments of the invention, the location of a pallet at a facility within a supply chain may be determined from location data received from a beacon on the pallet. In some embodiments, the position of the pallet within the facility may also be determined. Thus, the status of pallets may be monitored as they move through the supply chain.
Claims24
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, at server computer, location data and a device identifier associated with a device affixed to a pallet, wherein the location data was generated by hardware associated with the device, wherein the pallet is located at a facility in a supply chain, and wherein the facility is associated with a set of attributes and a facility identifier;
- accessing a database storing one or more sets of attributes corresponding to one or more locations of one or more facilities in the supply chain, wherein the database includes the set of attributes associated with the facility;
- matching the location data to the set of attributes associated with the facility in the database;
- associating the facility identifier with the device identifier when the location data is matched with the set of attributes;
- and
- outputting the facility identifier.
A computer-program product tangibly embodied in a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of a device, including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- receive, at the device, location data and a device identifier associated with a device affixed to a pallet, wherein the location data was generated by hardware associated with the device, wherein the pallet is located at a facility in a supply chain, and wherein the facility is associated with a set of attributes and a facility identifier;
- access a database storing one or more sets of attributes corresponding to one or more locations of one or more facilities in the supply chain, wherein the database includes the set of attributes associated with the facility;
- match the location data to the set of attributes associated with the facility in the database;
- associate the facility identifier with the device identifier when the location data is matched with the set of attributes;
- and
- output the facility identifier.
A device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions which when executed by the processor, cause the device to perform operations including:
- receiving, at the device, location data and a device identifier associated with the device affixed to a pallet, wherein the location data was generated by hardware associated with the device, wherein the pallet is located at a facility in a supply chain, and wherein the facility is associated with a set of attributes and a facility identifier;
- accessing a database storing one or more sets of attributes corresponding to one or more locations of one or more facilities in the supply chain, wherein the database includes the set of attributes associated with the facility;
- matching the location data to the set of attributes associated with the facility in the database;
- associating the facility identifier with the device identifier when the location data is matched with the set of attributes;
- and
- outputting the facility identifier.
