In-Memory Transaction Processing

An article of manufacture including a non-transitory, tangible computer readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a processor of a processing machine, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, by the processor, a transaction message based on a marker associated with the transaction message,
• wherein the transaction message was separated from an input file and represents a transaction between a merchant and a consumer,
• wherein the marker represents a transaction characteristic of the transaction message, and
• wherein the processing machine comprises a memory with processing information stored thereon;
• applying, by the processor, a processing module to the transaction message, wherein the processing module is comprised in the processing machine;
• accessing, by the processor, the processing information in the memory in order to execute the processing module;
• and
• processing, by the processor, the transaction message by executing the processing module on the transaction message.

A system comprising:

• a processor of a processing machine,
• a tangible, non-transitory memory configured to communicate with the processor,
• the tangible, non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, by the processor, a transaction message based on a marker associated with the transaction message,
• wherein the transaction message was separated from an input file and represents a transaction between a merchant and a consumer,
• wherein the marker represents a transaction characteristic of the transaction message, and
• wherein the processing machine comprises a memory with processing information stored thereon;
• applying, by the processor, a processing module to the transaction message, wherein the processing module is comprised in the processing machine;
• accessing, by the processor, the processing information in the memory in order to execute the processing module;
• and
• processing, by the processor, the transaction message by executing the processing module on the transaction message.
