• a copy management server;

• a copy execution apparatus,
• wherein the copy management server performs a process of providing copy management information for the copy execution apparatus,
• the copy management information includes dynamic range scalability limiting information that is copy limiting information recording whether or not copy is allowed for each of a basic layer and an auxiliary layer used for reproduction of video data,
• the copy execution apparatus includes a data processing unit that performs a copy process of recording recording data of a first medium in a second medium, and
• the data processing unit
• receives the dynamic range scalability limiting information that is the copy limiting information recording whether or not copy is allowed for each of a basic layer and an auxiliary layer used for reproducing video data from the copy management server,
• refers to the dynamic range scalability limiting information in a case where video data that can be generated using the basic layer and the auxiliary layer is recorded in the first medium, and
• determines whether or not copy is allowed for each of the basic layer and the auxiliary layer, selects layer data allowed to be copied or video data generated on the basis of copy-allowed layer data, and performs a copy process for the second medium.

An information processing method performed by an information processing apparatus,

• wherein the information processing apparatus includes a data processing unit that performs a copy process of recording recording data of a first medium in a second medium, and
• the data processing unit:
• receives dynamic range scalability limiting information that is copy limiting information recording whether or not copy is allowed for each of a basic layer and an auxiliary layer used for reproduction of video data from a copy management server;
• refers to the dynamic range scalability limiting information in a case where video data that can be generated using the basic layer and the auxiliary layer is recorded in the first medium;
• and
• determines whether or not copy is allowed for each of the basic layer and the auxiliary layer, selects layer data allowed to be copied or video data generated on the basis of the copy-allowed layer data, and performs a copy process for the second medium.

A program causing an information processing apparatus to perform an information process,

• wherein the information processing apparatus includes a data processing unit that performs a copy process of recording recording data of a first medium in a second medium, and
• the program causes the data processing unit to perform:
• receiving dynamic range scalability limiting information that is copy limiting information recording whether or not copy is allowed for each of a basic layer and an auxiliary layer used for reproduction of video data from a copy management server;
• referring to the dynamic range scalability limiting information in a case where video data that can be generated using the basic layer and the auxiliary layer is recorded in the first medium;
• and
• determining whether or not copy is allowed for each of the basic layer and the auxiliary layer, selecting layer data allowed to be copied or video data generated on the basis of the copy-allowed layer data, and performing a copy process for the second medium.
