Composite thermal interface objects

A method of forming a composite thermal interface object, the method comprising:

• depositing, using a compression mold, a second layer of a second thermal interface material on a surface of a first layer, wherein the first layer comprises a first thermal interface material having first compliance characteristics, wherein the first thermal interface material includes first graphite fibers, and wherein the first graphite fibers are aligned in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to the surface of the first layer;
• and
• curing the second thermal interface material, wherein the first compliance characteristics of the first thermal interface material are different from second compliance characteristics of the second thermal interface material.

A method of forming a composite thermal interface object, the method comprising:

• determining a topography of a surface of a first component of a thermal interface;
• and
• extruding a second thermal interface material on a surface of a first layer based on the topography of the surface of the first component, the first layer comprising a first thermal interface material having first compliance characteristics that are different from second compliance characteristics of the second thermal interface material, wherein the first thermal interface material includes first graphite fibers, and wherein the first graphite fibers are aligned in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to the surface of the first layer.
