Abstract
A system for providing media content in a vehicle includes a content component, a noise component, and a closed captioning component. The content component is configured to receive content from a content provider, wherein the content is configured for rendering by the media system of a vehicle. The noise component is configured to determine a noise level within a cabin of the vehicle. The closed captioning component is configured to, in response to determining that the noise level exceeds a threshold, trigger display of closed captioning for the content.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving content from a content provider, wherein the content is configured for rendering by a media system of a vehicle;
- detecting one or more of a current speed of the vehicle, a current engine rotation speed, a presence or number of nearby vehicles, or a current weather condition based on one or more vehicle sensors;
- determining a noise level within a cabin of the vehicle, wherein determining the noise level comprises determining an estimated cabin noise level based on one or more of the current speed of the vehicle, the current engine rotation speed, the presence or number of nearby vehicles, or the current weather conditions;
- in response to determining that the noise level exceeds a threshold, triggering display of closed captioning for the content;
- and
- rendering the content and closed captioning for the content on the media system of the vehicle.
A system comprising:
- a media system for rendering one or more of audio or visual content;
- a content component configured to receive content from a content provider, wherein the content is configured for rendering by the media system of a vehicle;
- a sensor component configured to detect one or more of a current speed of the vehicle, a current engine rotation speed, a presence or number of nearby vehicles, or a current weather condition based on one or more vehicle sensors;
- a noise component configured to determine a noise level within a cabin of the vehicle, wherein determining the noise level comprises determining an estimated cabin noise level based on one or more of the current speed of the vehicle, the current engine rotation speed, the presence or number of nearby vehicles, or the current weather conditions;
- and
- a closed captioning component configured to, in response to determining that the noise level exceeds a threshold, trigger display of closed captioning for the content.
Non-transitory computer readable storage media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the processors to:
- receive content from a content provider, wherein the content is configured for rendering by a media system of a vehicle;
- detect one or more of a current speed of the vehicle, a current engine rotation speed, a presence or number of nearby vehicles, or a current weather condition based on one or more vehicle sensors;
- determine a noise level within a cabin of the vehicle, wherein determining the noise level comprises determining an estimated a cabin noise level based on one or more of a current speed of the vehicle, a current engine rotation speed, a presence or number of nearby vehicles, vehicle vibration, or current weather conditions;
- in response to determining that the noise level exceeds a threshold, trigger display of closed captioning for the content;
- and
- render the content and closed captioning for the content on the media system of the vehicle.
