Abstract
In one embodiment, a method includes detecting a communication session between a first user and one or more second users. The method also includes determining a social context of the communication session, and determining based at least in part on the social context a set of symbols for communication by the first user in the communication session with the second users. The method further includes providing for display to the first user a set of keys corresponding to the set of symbols. The keys indicate symbols for input by the first user in the communication session.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- by a computing device, determining a social context between a first user and one or more second users in a communication session based in part on a common character set that each user has previously used to generate content, the common character set being different than a default character set that was set by the user for communication sessions;
- by the computing device, determining, based at least in part on the social context, a contextual keyboard corresponding to the common character set;
- and
- by the computing device, in response to receiving a request from the user to communicate in the communication session, overriding display of a default keyboard associated with the default character set to display the contextual keyboard to the user.
One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software that is operable when executed to:
- determine a social context between a first user and one or more second users in a communication session based in part on a common character set that each user has previously used to generate content, the common character set being different than a default character set that was set by the user for communication sessions;
- determine, based at least in part on the social context, a contextual keyboard corresponding to the common character set;
- and
- in response to receiving a request from the user to communicate in the communication session, override display of a default keyboard associated with the default character set to display the contextual keyboard to the user.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processors comprising instructions executable by the processors, the processors operable when executing the instructions to:
- determine a social context between a first user and one or more second users in a communication session based in part on a common character set that each user has previously used to generate content, the common character set being different than a default character set that was set by the user for communication sessions;
- determine, based at least in part on the social context, a contextual keyboard corresponding to the common character set;
- and
- in response to receiving a request from the user to communicate in the communication session, override display of a default keyboard associated with the default character set to display the contextual keyboard to the user.
