Abstract
Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a displacer for reducing the consumption of a cryogen used in a superconductive magnet device. The displacer may occupy some space within the cryogen storage cavity or limit the cryogen into a relatively small space surrounding a superconductive coil in the cryogen storage cavity. The displacer may also include a displacer cavity that may be vacuum or contain a cryogen or another substance.

1-33. (canceled)
A device comprising:
- an inner tank configured to accommodate a volume of a cryogen, the inner tank having a first housing and a hollow cavity disposed through the first housing;
- a shielding housing configured to enclose the first housing, the shielding housing having a second housing and a pipe disposed through the second housing;
- an outer tank configured to enclose the shielding housing, a vacuumed cavity being formed between the inner tank and the outer tank;
- and
- a first tube connecting a first end of the pipe to the inner tank and configured to enable fluid communication between the inner tank and the pipe, wherein
- at least a part of the pipe is located in the hollow cavity.
A method for manufacturing a cryostat comprising:
- cutting two first cut-through holes on a first housing, the first housing being configured to accommodate a volume of a cryogen;
- inserting a displacer through the two first cut-through holes, the displacer having a hollow cavity with two ends, and an end of the hollow cavity being welded to one of the two first cut-through holes;
- cutting two second cut-through holes on a second housing which encloses the first housing, a second cut-through hole being disposed to face one of the two first cut-through holes;
- inserting a pipe through the two second cut-through holes, at least a part of the pipe being located in the hollow cavity of the displacer;
- and
- connecting, by a first tube, the pipe to the first housing, wherein
- the pipe is in fluid communication with the first housing through the first tube.
A magnetic resonance imaging system, comprising:
- a cryostat including:
- an inner tank configured to accommodate a volume of a cryogen, the inner tank having a first housing and a hollow cavity disposed through the first housing;
- a shielding housing configured to enclose the first housing, the shielding housing having a second housing and a pipe disposed through the second housing;
- an outer tank configured to enclose the shielding housing, a vacuumed cavity being formed between the inner tank and the outer tank;
- and
- a first tube connecting a first end of the pipe to the inner tank and configured to enable fluid communication between the inner tank and the pipe, wherein at least a part of the pipe is located in the hollow cavity;
- a first superconducting coil located in the inner tank, the first superconducting coil being configured to generate a static magnetic field;
- a gradient coil configured to generate a gradient magnetic field;
- and
- an RF coil configured to generate or receive an RF pulse.
