In a pushbelt for a continuously variable transmission that includes at least one endless carrier and a number of transverse segments, which are mounted on the endless carrier. The transverse segments include a bearing surface that contacts the radial inside of the endless carrier, as well as a convexly curved tilting edge that is a part of a main body surface of the transverse segment. According to the present disclosure the convex curvature of the tilting edge extends both radially inward or below and radially outward or above the bearing surface, at least as seen in radial or height direction relative to the endless carrier.
Transverse segment (32) for a drive belt (3) with an endless carrier (31) and with a number of such transverse segments (32), slidably arranged on the endless carrier (31), which transverse segment (32) is provided with two main body surfaces (38, 39), where between the transverse segment (32) extends in thickness direction and whereof at least one main body surface (38) is provided with a convexly curved tilting edge (18), which tilting edge (18) provides a transition in height direction between an upper part of the transverse segment (32) with an essentially constant thickness (Tts) and a lower part of the transverse segment (32) whereof the thickness reduces in a direction away from the tilting edge (18), which transverse segment (32) is further provided with at least one cut-out (33) that extends in-between the two main body surfaces (38, 39) and that in radially inward direction is bounded by a bearing surface (32) supporting the inside of the endless carrier (31), wherein an radially outer extend of the tilting edge (18) is located radially outward of the bearing surface (42) and wherein a radially inner extend of the tilting edge (18) is located radially inward of the of the bearing surface (42).
Drive belt (3) for a continuously variable transmission with an endless carrier (31) and with a number of transverse segments (32), slidably arranged on the endless carrier (31), which transverse segments (32) are each provided with two main body surfaces (38, 39), where between the transverse segment (32) extends in thickness direction and whereof at least one main body surface (38) is provided with a convexly curved tilting edge (18), which tilting edge (18) provides a transition in height direction between an upper part of the transverse segment (32) with an essentially constant thickness (Tts) and a lower part of the transverse segment (32) whereof the thickness reduces in a direction away from the tilting edge (18), which transverse segment (32) is further provided with at least one cut-out (33) that extends in-between the two main body surfaces (38, 39) and that in radially inward direction is bounded by a bearing surface (32) supporting the inside of the endless carrier (31), wherein an radially outer extend of the tilting edge (18) is located radially outward of the bearing surface (42) and wherein a radially inner extend of the tilting edge (18) is located radially inward of the of the bearing surface (42).
