Absorbent article

An absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction, comprising:

• a front portion;
• a rear portion;
• a middle portion located between the rear portion and the front portion;
• a first longitudinal side edge;
• a second longitudinal side edge extending in said longitudinal direction;
• a first transverse side edge;
• a second transverse side edge extending in the transverse direction;
• a liquid permeable topsheet;
• a liquid impermeable backsheet;
• an absorbent core enclosed between the topsheet and the backsheet;
• and
• a first fastening tab and a second fastening tab attached to said article,
• wherein each of said first fastening tab and said second fastening tab has a first surface comprising a first fastener and a second surface comprising a second fastener,
• wherein at least one of said first fastening tab or said second fastening tab has a longitudinal direction of the tab extending in the transverse direction of the article and a transverse direction of the tab extending in the longitudinal direction of the article and a z-direction of the tab that is orthogonal to said longitudinal direction of the tab and said transverse direction of the tab,
• wherein said at least one of said first fastening tab or said second fastening tab has a first longitudinal side edge of the tab and a second longitudinal side edge of the tab extending in the longitudinal direction of the tab, and a first transverse side edge of the tab and a second transverse side edge of the tab extending in the transverse direction of the tab and a first imaginary line extending in the transverse direction of the fastening tab,
• wherein said at least one of said first fastening tab or said second fastening tab is folded along said first imaginary line upwards in said z-direction forming a double-folded fastening tab, said double-folded fastening tab comprising a first layer positioned on top of a second layer in said z-direction,
• wherein said first layer has a first surface of the first layer intended to face towards a user when the absorbent article is in a first position and a second surface of the first layer intended to face away from the user when the absorbent article is in a first position, and
• wherein said second layer has a first surface of the second layer intended to face towards a user when the absorbent article is in a first position and a second surface of the second layer intended to face away from the user when the absorbent article is in a first position.
