Mechanical ventilation system and device for footwear

A mechanical ventilation system for footwear, comprising:

• an air reservoir positioned between a foot bed of the footwear and a sole of the footwear, wherein the air reservoir includes an air intake opening and an air exhaust opening connected to a foot compartment of the footwear, and wherein the foot compartment is configured to house a foot of a user;
• and
• an actuator, wherein the actuator is configured to be depressible when a force is applied to the actuator, and wherein a portion of the actuator extends into the air reservoir such that movement of the actuator facilitates:
• intake of air into the air reservoir through the air intake opening, and
• exhaust of air out of the air reservoir through the air exhaust opening.

A mechanical ventilation system for footwear, comprising:

• a substantially rigid surface configured to support at least a portion of a foot;
• and
• a movable part comprising:
• a front actuator portion positioned at a front portion of the footwear, the front actuator portion compressible in an upward direction;
• an extension portion located at least partially under the substantially rigid surface;
• a rear actuator portion positioned at a rear portion of the footwear and coupled to one end of the extension portion, the rear actuator portion compressible in the upward direction;
• and
• an elastic element coupled to the movable part and the substantially rigid surface;
• and
• an air reservoir including an air intake opening and an air exhaust opening;
• wherein when the rear actuator portion is compressed in the upward direction, the extension portion overcomes a force of the elastic element to cause the extension portion to move in the upward direction, forcing air out of the air exhaust opening of the air reservoir.
