Abstract
The present invention relates to a device and a method for transmitting and receiving a signal of a broadcast including a subtitle service. One embodiment of the present invention provides a broadcast signal transmitting method comprising the steps of generating a broadcast signal, which includes video data and subtitle data, and transmitting the generated broadcast signal. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a transmission stream for providing a digital broadcasting subtitle service using XML subtitles can be transmitted.
Claims14
A method for transmitting a broadcast signal by an apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal, comprising:
- generating video data;
- generating a broadcast signal including the generated video data, transition information indicating a quality change of the video data and video quality enhancement metadata;
- and
- transmitting the generated broadcast signal.
A method for receiving a broadcast signal by an apparatus for receiving a broadcast signal, comprising:
- receiving a broadcast signal including video data, transition information indicating a quality change of the video data and video quality enhancement metadata;
- demultiplexing the broadcast signal into the video data and the video quality enhancement metadata;
- decoding the video data and the video quality enhancement metadata;
- and
- applying the video quality enhancement metadata to the video data.
A broadcast signal transmission device comprising:
- an encoder to generate video data;
- a multiplexer to generate a broadcast signal including the generated video data, transition information indicating a quality change of the video data and video quality enhancement metadata;
- and
- a transmitter to transmit the generated broadcast signal.
A broadcast signal reception device comprising:
- a receiver to receive a broadcast signal including video data and video quality enhancement metadata;
- a demultiplexer to demultiplex the broadcast signal into the video data, transition information indicating a quality change of the video data and the video quality enhancement metadata;
- a decoder to decode the video data and the video quality enhancement metadata;
- and
- a post processor to apply the video quality enhancement metadata to the video data.
