Abstract
A method of provisioning cards in a rack mount system, by selecting a desired configuration file from a library of configuration files, and copying the configuration file into a memory device. The memory device is inserted into the rack mount system and powered up. Whereupon the configuration file automatically and without any further user intervention provisions a card of the rack mount system.

A method of provisioning cards in a rack mount system the method comprising the steps of:
- selecting a desired configuration file from a library of configuration files,
- copying the configuration file into a memory device,
- inserting the memory device into the rack mount system, and
- initiating a provisioning process whereby the configuration file automatically and without any further user intervention provisions a card of the rack mount system.

- selecting a desired configuration file from a library of configuration files,
- copying the configuration file into a memory device,
- inserting the memory device into the rack mount system, and
- powering up the rack mount system,
- wherein the configuration file in the memory device is automatically and without any further user intervention copied into memories of cards in the rack mount system upon power-up of the rack mount system.

- a memory device disposed on at least one of the rack and the card, and
- a configuration file disposed on the memory device,
