Soft bath tissues having low wet abrasion and good durability

A multi-ply bath tissue comprising:

• a first ply providing a first surface of the bath tissue, the first ply including first and second layers, the first layer of the first ply forming the first surface, the first layer of the first ply including a temporary wet strength resin and the second layer of the first ply being substantially free from a temporary wet strength resin;
• and
• a second ply providing a second surface of the bath tissue, the second ply including first and second layers, the first layer of the second ply forming the second surface, the first layer of the second ply including a temporary wet strength resin and the second layer of the second ply being substantially free from a temporary wet strength resin,
• wherein the bath tissue is free from regenerated cellulosic microfibers.
