Abstract
In one example, a lighting device for an additive manufacturing machine includes an array of light sources each to emit monochromatic light within a band of wavelengths that includes a peak light absorption of a liquid coalescing agent to be dispensed on to a build material.

A lighting device for an additive manufacturing machine, comprising an array of light sources each to emit monochromatic light within a band of wavelengths that includes a peak light absorption of a liquid coalescing agent to be dispensed on to a build material.
A carriage assembly for an additive manufacturing machine, comprising:
- a movable carriage to move over a build zone;
- a coalescing agent dispenser on the carriage to dispense a liquid coalescing agent on to build material in the build zone;
- and
- an array of light sources on the carriage with the dispenser to emit monochromatic light on to build material in the build zone.
An additive manufacturing machine, comprising:
- a first device to layer powdered build material;
- a second device to dispense a coalescing agent on to build material;
- a third device to dispense a coalescing modifier agent on to build material;
- a monochromatic light source to illuminate build material;
- and
- a controller to execute instructions to:
- cause the first device to layer build material;
- cause the second device to dispense a liquid coalescing agent on to layered build material in a pattern of a slice;
- cause the third device to dispense a coalescence modifier agent on to layered build material bordering patterned build material, on to patterned build material, or on to build material bordering patterned build material and on to patterned build material;
- and
- cause the light source to illuminate patterned build material with monochromatic light within a band of wavelengths that includes a peak light absorption of a coalescing agent.
