Abstract
The present specification discloses a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating ophthalmopathy. More particularly, disclosed is a composition comprising a peptide derived from telomerase and being effective in treating and preventing ophthalmopathy. The disclosed peptide, a peptide having a sequence 80% identical to the sequence thereof, or a peptide as a fragment thereof is superiorly effective in treating ophthalmopathy.

A composition for treating and preventing ophthalmopathy, comprising a peptide selected from a peptide including an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, a peptide having a sequence homology of 80% or more with the amino acid sequence, or a fragment thereof.
A composition for inhibiting choroidal neovascularization, comprising a peptide selected from a peptide including an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, a peptide having a sequence homology of 80% or more with the amino acid sequence, or a fragment thereof.
A method of treating or preventing ophthalmopathy, comprising:
- administering an effective amount of a peptide containing an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, a peptide having a sequence homology of 80% or more with the amino acid sequence, or a fragment thereof to a target in need of treatment or prevention of ophthalmopathy.

A method of inhibiting choroidal neovascularization, comprising:
- administering an effective amount of a peptide containing an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, a peptide having a sequence homology of 80% or more with the amino acid sequence, or a fragment thereof to a target in need of inhibition of choroidal neovascularization.
