Method of and a Network Server and Mobile User Equipment for Providing Chat/VoIP Services in a Mobile Telecommunications Network

A method implemented by a mobile User Equipment (UE) in a communication network, the method comprises:

• via a UE media service client of the UE, accessing media services of one or more of a plurality of different media service communication environments by connecting the UE media service client, via the communication network, to an application server that emulates the UE media service client over each link between the application server and an accessed media service communication environment;
• and
• representing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for multiples ones of the plurality of different media service environments.

A mobile User Equipment (UE) configured to operate in a communication network, the mobile UE comprising input and output equipment, communications equipment, and processing equipment, wherein the processing equipment is configured to execute a UE media service client and is further configured, via the input and output equipment, the communications equipment, and the media service client, to:

• access the media services of one or more of a plurality of different media service communication environments by connecting the UE media service client, via the communication network, to an application server that emulates the UE media service client over each link between the application server and an accessed media service communication environment;
• and
• represent a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for multiples ones of the plurality of different media service environments.
