Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and idalopirdine for reducing falls in patients suffering from a CNS disease, in particular patients with Parkinson's disease, wherein balance, gait or movement is impaired.
Claims20
A method of treating a CNS disease, wherein said method comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of a 5-HT6 receptor antagonist in combination with an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor to a subject in need thereof, and wherein said CNS disease impairs balance, gait or movement due to degeneration of, or functional impairment in, cholinergic neurons.
A pharmaceutical composition that comprises a therapeutically effective amount of:
- (i) a 5-HT6 receptor antagonist and (ii) an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wherein said therapeutically effective amount is effective for treating a CNS disease that impairs balance, gait or movement due to degeneration of, or functional impairment in, cholinergic neurons.
