Child friendly sipper

A package in which a flowable product may be contained, the package comprising:

• a main package body having a packaging spout;
• and
• a feeding spout comprising an open end positionable about and sealingly engageable with the packaging spout, the feeding spout further comprising a hollow tubular portion having a tube wall, a closed end, and two or more slits through the tube wall offset from the closed end.

A method of producing the feeding spout comprising;

• a hollow tubular portion and a threaded collar portion, the hollow tubular portion having a tube wall, an open end, and a closed end, the tube wall having two or more slits therethrough offset from the closed end, the threaded collar portion being integral with the open end of the hollow tubular portion, the method comprising:
• using an injection molding process to form the feeding spout from a rigid resin selected from the group consisting of polyethylene (PE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polylactide (PLA), and combinations thereof.
