Abstract
A system and processes for a proximate-speaker audio compensation system include a first speaker and a second speaker that are proximate to a user. A control unit couples to at least one of the first speaker or the second speaker. The control unit adjusts audio signal based on a hearing-aid type adjustment. The control unit sends adjusted audio signal to the at least one of the first speaker or the second speaker.
Claims24
An apparatus comprising:
- a first set of one or more speakers proximate to a user of a hearing aid device;
- a second set of one or more speakers proximate to the user;
- and
- a control unit configured to:
- couple to at least one of the first set or the second set;
- determine that the hearing aid device is present;
- access a hearing impaired profile associated with the user of the hearing aid device and with at least one of the first and second sets, wherein the hearing impaired profile includes a different hearing aid type adjustment for each ear of the user;
- adjust an audio signal based on the hearing impaired profile;
- and
- send the adjusted audio signal to the at least one of the hearing aid device and at least one of the first set or the second set.

(canceled)
An apparatus comprising:
- a control unit configured to:
- couple to a hearing aid device proximate to the control unit;
- decouple one or more speakers proximate to the hearing aid device from receiving audio signal upon a determination that the hearing aid device is coupled to the control unit;
- adjust the audio signal according to a hearing impaired profile associated with a user of the hearing aid device and the one or more speakers, wherein the hearing impaired profile includes a different hearing aid type adjustment for each ear of the user;
- and
- send the audio signal to the hearing aid device.

A method comprising:
- coupling, by a control unit, to a hearing aid device proximate to the control unit;
- decoupling one or more speakers proximate to the hearing aid device from
- receiving an audio signal upon a determination that the hearing aid device is coupled to the control unit;
- adjusting the audio signal according to a hearing impaired profile associated with a user of the hearing aid device and the one or more speakers, wherein the hearing impaired profile includes a different hearing aid type adjustment for each ear of the user;
- and
- sending the audio signal to the hearing aid device.
