Beam reference signal for broadcast decoding

An apparatus for wireless communication comprising:

• means for receiving a subframe comprising one or more beam reference signals and one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals;
• means for determining one or more channel estimates based at least in part on the one or more beam reference signals;
• and
• means for decoding one or more PBCH signals based at least in part on the one or more channel estimates.

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a processor;
• memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and operable, when executed by the processor, to cause the apparatus to:
• receive a subframe comprising one or more beam reference signals and one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals;
• determine one or more channel estimates based at least in part on the one or more beam reference signals;
• and
• decode one or more PBCH signals based at least in part on the one or more channel estimates.

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a processor;
• memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and operable, when executed by the processor, to cause the apparatus to:
• transmit a subframe comprising one or more beam reference signals and one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals, wherein the one or more beam reference signals are configured to be used as a basis for one or more channel estimates for decoding one or more PBCH signals.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for wireless communication, the code comprising instructions executable to:

• receive a subframe comprising one or more beam reference signals and one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals;
• determine one or more channel estimates based at least in part on the one or more beam reference signals;
• and
• decode one or more PBCH signals based at least in part on the one or more channel estimates.
