Abstract
Embodiments of a system including a display device are described herein. For example, the system may receive streaming video data including information indicating a video quality identifier and apply a video parameter enhancement to a subsystem of the display device. In a further example, the system outputs video using the video parameter enhancement. In another example, the video parameter enhancement may he applied to alter an output characteristic of the display device.
Claims20
A method performed by circuitry of a display device, the method comprising:
- receiving streaming video data including information indicating a video quality identifier;
- determining a plurality of video parameter enhancements based on a location of the video quality identifier within a video quality range;
- selecting a video parameter enhancement from the plurality of video parameter enhancements based on output characteristics of the display device;
- applying the video parameter enhancement to a controllable subsystem of the display device to alter at least one of the output characteristics of the display device;
- and
- outputting video on the display device using the video parameter enhancement.
A system comprising circuitry of a display device, the circuitry to:
- receive streaming video data including information indicating a video quality identifier;
- determine a plurality of video parameter enhancements based on a location of the video quality identifier within a video quality range;
- select a video parameter enhancement from the plurality of video parameter enhancements based on output characteristics of the display device;
- apply the video parameter enhancement to a controllable subsystem of the display device to alter at least one of the output characteristics of the display device;
- and
- output video on the display device using the video parameter enhancement.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium including instructions which, when executed by circuitry of a display device, cause the display device to perform operations including:
- receiving streaming video data including information indicating a video quality identifier;
- determining a plurality of video parameter enhancements based on a location of the video quality identifier within a video quality range;
- selecting a video parameter enhancement from the plurality of video parameter enhancements based on output characteristics of the display device;
- applying the video parameter enhancement to a controllable subsystem of the display device to alter at least one of the output characteristics of the display device;
- and
- outputting video on the display device using the video parameter enhancement.
