Self-adjusting bid-management system

A method for a self-adjusting bid-management system, the method comprising:

• a processor of the bid-management system identifying a bid topology that comprises a set of nodes and a set of edges,
• wherein each node of the set of nodes represents a task of a set of project tasks,
• wherein a first edge of the set of edges represents a dependency relationship between a first pair of tasks of the set of project tasks, and
• wherein the first edge connects a pair of nodes of the set of nodes that represent the first pair of tasks;
• the processor building a bid model that comprises the bid topology and a set of project metadata from which may be inferred characteristics of the bid topology,
• the processor soliciting a set of bids from a set of bidders;
• the processor receiving a first bid from a first bidder in response to the soliciting, wherein the first bid proposes a first bid amount to perform one or more tasks of the set of project tasks;
• the processor determining whether the first bid is a winning bid;
• the processor ascertaining whether to revise the bid model as a function of the receiving and the determining;
• the processor, if having ascertained that the model should be revised, revising the bid model and resoliciting another set of bids from the set of bidders as a function of the revised bid model;
• the processor repeating the receiving, the determining, the ascertaining, and the revising and resoliciting until an occurrence of a condition that terminates the bidding process.

A computer program product, comprising a computer-readable hardware storage device having a computer-readable program code stored therein, the program code configured to be executed by a self-adjusting bid-management system comprising a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and a computer-readable hardware storage device coupled to the processor, the storage device containing program code configured to be run by the processor via the memory to implement a method for a self-adjusting bid-management system, the method comprising:

• the processor identifying a bid topology that comprises a set of nodes and a set of edges,
• wherein each node of the set of nodes represents a task of a set of project tasks,
• wherein a first edge of the set of edges represents a dependency relationship between a first pair of tasks of the set of project tasks, and
• wherein the first edge connects a pair of nodes of the set of nodes that represent the first pair of tasks;
• the processor building a bid model that comprises the bid topology and a set of project metadata from which may be inferred characteristics of the bid topology;
• the processor soliciting a set of bids from a set of bidders;
• the processor receiving a first bid from a first bidder in response to the soliciting, wherein the first bid proposes a first bid amount to perform one or more tasks of the set of project tasks;
• the processor determining whether the first bid is a winning bid;
• the processor ascertaining whether to revise the bid model as a function of the receiving and the determining;
• the processor, if having ascertained that the model should be revised, revising the bid model and resoliciting another set of bids from the set of bidders as a function of the revised bid model;
• the processor repeating the receiving, the determining, the ascertaining, and the revising and resoliciting until an occurrence of a condition that terminates the bidding process.
