Abstract

Systems and methods for acquiring an article of clothing worn by a celebrity featured in a media asset. The media asset featuring the celebrity is received from a media source. A frame is identified in the media asset that includes the article of clothing worn by the celebrity. An identifier is determined for the article of clothing in the identified frame. If the user is determined to be in possession of the article of clothing, an instruction is transmitted requesting the location for the article of clothing based on the identifier. The location is generated for display to the user based on a response to the instruction. If the user is determined to not be in possession of the article of clothing, a location is determined for acquiring the article of clothing. The location to acquire the article of clothing is generated for display to the user.

Dependent claims

A method for acquiring an article of clothing worn by a celebrity featured in a media asset, the method comprising:

receiving, from a media source, the media asset featuring the celebrity;
identifying, using control circuitry, a frame in the media asset that includes the article of clothing worn by the celebrity;
determining, using the control circuitry, an identifier for the article of clothing in the identified frame;
determining, using the control circuitry, whether a user viewing the media asset is in possession of the article of clothing based on the identifier;
and
in response to determining that the user is not in possession of the article of clothing:
determining, using the control circuitry, a location for acquiring the article of clothing;
and
generating for display, using the control circuitry, the location for the user to acquire the article of clothing.

control circuitry configured to:
receive, from the media source, the media asset featuring the celebrity;
