System and method for integrating a transactional middleware platform with a centralized audit framework

A method for integrating a transactional middleware platform with a centralized audit framework, comprising:

• registering an audit provider provided by the centralized audit framework in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) middleware platform executing on a microprocessor, as an internal audit service in the transactional middleware platform;
• providing an audit server in the transactional middleware platform, wherein the audit server advertises the internal audit service to one or more application servers in the transactional middleware platform, wherein each of the one or more applications servers is configured to receive service requests from a client through an inter-process communications (IPC) message queue;
• providing a configuration file that defines a plurality of audit events to be audited for the transactional middleware platform;
• receiving, at a particular application server in the transactional middleware platform, a service request from a client;
• and
• initiating, by the particular application server, an audit call to the audit server, which invokes application programming interfaces (APIs) exposed by the audit provider to process the audit call based on the configuration file.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a set of instructions for integrating a transactional middleware platform with a centralized audit framework, said instructions, when executed by one or more processors, causing the one or more processors to perform steps comprising:

• registering an audit provider provided by the centralized audit framework in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) middleware platform executing on a microprocessor, as an internal audit service in the transactional middleware platform;
• providing an audit server in the transactional middleware platform, wherein the audit server advertises the internal audit service to one or more application servers in the transactional middleware platform, wherein each of the one or more applications servers is configured to receive service requests from a client through an inter-process communications (IPC) message queue;
• providing a configuration file that defines a plurality of audit events to be audited for the transactional middleware platform;
• receiving, at a particular application server in the transactional middleware platform, a service request from a client;
• and
• initiating, by the particular application server, an audit call to the audit server, which invokes application programming interfaces (APIs) exposed by the audit provider to process the audit call based on the configuration file.
