Abstract
In a flash-based accelerator, a flash-based non-volatile memory stores data in pages, and a buffer subsystem stores data in words or bytes. An accelerator controller manages data movement between the flash-based non-volatile memory and the buffer subsystem. A plurality of processors processes data stored in the buffer subsystem. A network integrates the flash-based non-volatile memory, the buffer subsystem, the accelerator controller, and the plurality of processors.
Claims20
A flash-based accelerator performing data processing by supplementing functions of a central processing unit (CPU) of a host or independently of the CPU, the flash-based accelerator comprising:
- a flash-based non-volatile memory that stores data in pages;
- a buffer subsystem that stores data in words or bytes;
- an accelerator controller that manages data movement between the flash-based non-volatile memory and the buffer subsystem;
- a plurality of processors that process data stored in the buffer subsystem;
- and
- a network that integrate the flash-based non-volatile memory, the buffer subsystem, the accelerator controller, and the plurality of processors.
A flash-based accelerator performing data processing by supplementing functions of a central processing unit (CPU) of a host or independently of the CPU, the flash-based accelerator comprising:
- a flash-based non-volatile memory;
- a buffer subsystem including
- a first memory including a first data space mapped to the flash-based non-volatile memory, and
- a controller that manages mapping between the flash-based non-volatile memory and the first data space;
- a plurality of processors that process data stored on the buffer subsystem;
- and
- a network that integrates the flash-based non-volatile memory, the buffer subsystem, and the plurality of processors.
