Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for providing contextual actions from collaboration features. In one aspect, rendering of a file created with an application in a user interface may be initiated. The file may include at least one collaboration feature. In response to receiving an indication of interest made with respect to the at least one collaboration feature, one or more actions having a contextual relevance to the at least one collaboration feature may be identified. The one or more identified actions may be surfaced in an action hub. For example, the action hub may be displayed within the file proximal to the at least one collaboration feature and may include the one or more identified actions.

Dependent claims

A system comprising:

one or more computer readable storage media;
and
program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to at least:
initiate rendering of file created with a collaboration application in a user interface, the file including at least one collaboration feature;
surface at least one of collaborator information and status information in a first portion of an action hub;
and
surface one or more actions having a contextual relevance to the at least one collaboration feature in a second portion of the action hub, wherein the action hub is displayed proximal to the at least one collaboration feature.

a collaboration application embodied at least in part in program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media and comprising:
a file in a user interface for collaborating among a plurality of collaborators of the file;
a first collaboration feature in the user interface through which to present at least metadata associated with at least one of the collaborators of the plurality of collaborators of the file and through which to receive an indication of interest made with respect to the first collaboration feature;
and
a first action hub in the user interface through which to, in response to the indication of interest made with respect to the first collaboration feature, surface one or more actions having a contextual relevance to the first collaboration feature.
