Movable Track Pad with Smudge-Resistant Input Surface

An input device comprising:

• a touch-sensitive track pad comprising:
• an input surface;
• an electrode layer positioned below the input surface and configured to detect a location of a user touch on the input surface;
• and
• a substrate supporting the electrode layer;
• and
• a frame comprising a flexure configured to flex in response to pressure on the input surface of the touch-sensitive track pad;
• and
• a pressure sensor coupled to the frame and configured to provide a continuous measurement of an amount of depression of the input surface in response to the pressure.

A touch-sensitive track pad comprising:

• an input surface;
• a circuit board coupled beneath the input surface and comprising touch sensors configured to detect a user touch and a location of the user touch on the input surface;
• a frame supporting the circuit board;
• a flexure hinge coupled to the frame and configured to resist depression of the input surface;
• a movement indicator disposed beneath the circuit board and configured to detect an amount of movement of the input surface in response to the user touch.

An electronic device comprising:

• a housing comprising an aperture;
• and
• an input device positioned at least partially within the aperture and comprising:
• an input surface;
• a touch sensor layer coupled below the input surface and configured to detect a user touch and a location of the user touch on the input surface;
• a substrate supporting the input surface;
• a frame positioned at least partially below the substrate and comprising a flexure hinge supporting the substrate;
• and
• a pressure sensor coupled to the frame and configured to provide a continuous measurement of an amount of depression of the input surface in response to the user touch.
