Image heating apparatus

An image heating apparatus comprising:

• a heater including a substrate and a heat generating element provided on the substrate;
• a supporting member for supporting said heater;
• a high heat conductive member sandwiched between said heater and said supporting member,
• wherein a recording material on which an image is formed is heated by heat from said heater,
• wherein said supporting member has a bottom region, where said supporting member supports said heater, including a first region where said supporting member contacts said high heat conductive member so as to apply pressure between said heater and said high heat conductive member and including a second region where said supporting member is recessed from said high heat conductive member relative to the first region, and
• wherein at least a part of the first region overlaps, with respect to a movement direction of the recording material, with a region where the heat generating element is provided.
