Abstract
The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display comprising an absorption dye, wherein the liquid crystal display of the present invention may enhance color gamut and brightness by transmitting pure red, green, and blue (RGB) wavelengths emitted from a light source as much as possible and absorbing unnecessary wavelengths other than the RGB wavelengths.
Claims17
A liquid crystal display comprising:
- a backlight unit;
- and
- a liquid crystal panel,
- wherein the backlight unit sequentially comprises two or more of a reflective polarizing film, a prism sheet, a diffusion sheet, a light guide plate, and a reflective plate, and
- wherein the reflective polarizing film comprises an absorption dye which includes at least one of a hydroxy benzotriazole-based dye and a tetra aza porphyrin-based dye.
