A cleaning solution for the removal of asphaltene deposits includes a first dispersant comprising a quaternary ammonium compound and a second dispersant comprising a pyridinium compound.

A cleaning solution for the removal of asphaltene deposits, comprising:
- a first dispersant comprising a quaternary ammonium compound;
- and
- a second dispersant comprising a pyridinium compound.
A method of removing asphaltene deposits from a system, comprising flushing a system component having asphaltene deposits with an asphaltene cleaning solution comprising a quaternary ammonium compound and a pyridinium compound.
