Abstract
A system and medium for controlling a fuel gas compressor of a gas turbine system that compresses a gaseous fuel for consumption in a high-pressure combustor. Moreover, the compressor is configured to generate a discharge pressure for the combustor based at least in part on a load demand for the gas turbine system.
Claims20
A gas turbine system, comprising:
- a combustor configured to burn a fuel and air mixture;
- and
- a fuel gas compressor configured to compress fuel, wherein the compressor is configured to generate a discharge pressure for the combustor based at least in part on a load demand for the gas turbine system, wherein the load demand comprises a load demand on a generator of the gas turbine system, and the fuel gas compressor comprises a rotary compressor.
A gas turbine system comprising:
- a combustor configured to burn a fuel and air mixture;
- a fuel gas compressor configured to compress gas fuel, wherein the fuel gas compressor comprises a rotary compressor;
- and
- a controller comprising:
- a processor configured to control the fuel gas compressor;
- and
- memory storing instructions that cause the processor to:
- vary a discharge pressure from the fuel gas compressor based at least in part on load demand for the gas turbine system, wherein the load demand comprises a load demand on a generator of the gas turbine system;
- and
- limit the discharge pressure to a value above a minimum threshold.

A non-transitory, computer-readable memory storing instructions which when executed are configured to cause a processor to:
- receive an indication of a load demand for a gas turbine system, wherein the load demand comprises a load demand on a generator of the gas turbine system;
- set a discharge pressure of a compressor of the gas turbine system based at least in part on the indication, wherein the compressor comprises a rotary compressor;
- and
- limit the discharge pressure to a value above a pressure differential across the compressor that is sufficient to flow lubricant through the compressor.
