Abstract
The present invention discloses a single step, environmentally and economical viable process for the preparation of butyl acetate from ethyl acetate and n-butanol with high yield using boron loaded zeolite catalyst.

A single step transesterification process for the preparation of butyl acetate comprising heating a reaction mixture of n-butanol, ethyl acetate and boron loaded zeolite (B-USY) catalyst for the period in the range of 1 to 10 hr, wherein that yield of butyl acetate is 50-96%.
