Image display control device and image display system

An image display system comprising:

• an imager an imaging area of which is from a direction in which a rear end of a vehicle body can be captured to a direction upward from a horizontal direction and a rearward of a vehicle;
• a display device;
• and
• an image display control device,
• the image display control device including:
• an image generator configured to generate a display image to be displayed on the display device, the display image containing a vehicle exterior image based on at least a part of a captured image by the imager;
• an area changer configured to change an area of the captured image to be contained in the display image for forward travel and backward travel of the vehicle;
• and
• a display controller configured to control the display device to display the display image.
