Abstract
Embodiments of the disclosure include methods and compositions related to immunotherapy that targets glypican-3. In particular embodiments, immune cells engineered to comprise a chimeric antigen receptor that targets glypican-3 are contemplated, and uses thereof. In particular embodiments, medical conditions that are associated with glypican-3 expression or an overexpression of glypican-3 are treated with GPC3 CARs.
Claims30
A method of inhibiting proliferation and/or activity of Glypican-3 (GPC3)-positive cells in an individual, comprising the step of contacting the cells with a therapeutically effective amount of immune cells that express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets Glypican-3 (GPC3), wherein the CAR comprises an scFv antibody other than 3E11, 2G9, 4G5, 3D8, or 2E10.
The method of any one of 1-24, wherein a transmembrane domain for the CAR comprises the CD28 transmembrane domain.
