Abstract
The present invention is directed to methods for reducing blood lactate concentration during exercise, physical activity or athletic performance.

A beverage comprising:
- water;
- and
- at least one compound selected from the group consisting of:
- quercetin;
- rutin;
- isoquercetin;
- isoquercetrin;
- kaempferol;
- myricetin;
- isohamnetina;
- sulphate conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- glucoronide conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- and
- glycoside conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- wherein the at least one compound is present at 500 milligrams to 2 grams.

A concentrated composition to which liquid is added to form a beverage, said concentrated composition comprising:
- at least one compound selected from the group consisting of:
- quercetin;
- rutin;
- isoquercetin;
- isoquercetrin;
- kaempferol;
- myricetin;
- isohamnetin;
- sulphate conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- glucoronide conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- and
- glycoside conjugated forms of each of quercetin, rutin, isoquercetin, isoquercetrin, kaempferol, myricetin and isohamnetin;
- wherein the concentrated composition provides the beverage with 500 milligrams to 2 grams of the at least one compound.
