Abstract
The present invention relates to methods for obtaining a whole virus vaccine candidate stock. The present invention also relates to an inactivated whole virus vaccine candidate stock that can be used for vaccination purposes as well as development of novel high titer virus, which is the preferred virus for this technique.
Claims22
A method of obtaining a whole virus vaccine candidate stock, the method comprising:
- a) providing a cell culture supernatant comprising virus particles,
- b) purifying and/or increasing the concentration of the virus particles in cell culture supernatant,
- c) optionally, repeating step b),
- d) optionally, collecting 1 or more specific fractions obtained from steps b) or c), and
- e) obtaining the whole virus vaccine candidate stock.
