Abstract
A circuit is provided for ringing suppression. The circuit comprises a termination resistor coupled to a bus via a switch; and a control circuit. The control circuit comprises an input coupled to a data input pin of a bus transceiver and an output coupled to control the termination resistor. The circuit is configured to selectively couple the resistor to the bus in response to a transition on the input bit stream.

A circuit comprising:
- a termination resistor coupled to a bus via a switch;
- and
- a control circuit comprising an input coupled to a data input pin of a bus transceiver and an output coupled to control the termination resistor;
- wherein the circuit is configured to selectively couple the resistor to the bus in response to a transition on the input bit stream.

A bus transceiver comprising:
- a data input pin configured to receive a input bit stream;
- a first output configured to output a bus signal;
- and
- a circuit that includes
- a termination resistor coupled to a bus via a switch;
- and
- a control circuit comprising an input coupled to a data input pin of a bus transceiver and an output coupled to control the termination resistor;
- wherein the circuit is configured to selectively couple the resistor to the bus in response to a transition on the input bit stream.

A system comprising:
- a plurality of nodes coupled to communicate via a controller area network (CAN) bus, wherein each node comprises a bus transceiver that includes
- a termination resistor coupled to a bus via a switch;
- and
- a control circuit comprising an input coupled to a data input pin of a bus transceiver and an output coupled to control the termination resistor;
- wherein the circuit is configured to selectively couple the resistor to the bus in response to a transition on the input bit stream.
