Abstract
An audio output device may include one or more audio sensors configured to detect ambient sound and noises around the audio output device. The audio output device may include a controller configured to analyze the detected sound and noises and may adjust audio settings of the audio output device accordingly. In an embodiment, the controller may analyze and recognize that the detected noise is another person's attempt to get the user's attention or to talk to the user, such as audio sound of the user's name. In response, the controller may stop the audio output or lower the volume of the audio output.

A method for automatically controlling an audio output device, comprising:
- monitoring audio occurrences in an environment;
- determining whether a current audio setting of the audio output device is associated with the monitored audio occurrences in the environment;
- and
- when it is determined that the current audio setting of the audio output device is not associated with the monitored audio occurrences in the environment:
- comparing the monitored audio occurrences with one or more additional audio settings of the audio output device;
- and
- automatically adjusting an output of the audio output device based, at least in part, on the one or more additional audio settings.
An audio output device, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method, comprising:
- monitoring audio occurrences in an environment using at least one audio sensor;
- determining, by the at least one processor, whether a current audio setting of the audio output device is associated with the monitored audio occurrences in the environment;
- and
- when it is determined that the current audio setting of the audio output device is not associated with the monitored audio occurrences in the environment:
- comparing the monitored audio occurrences with one or more additional audio settings of the audio output device;
- and
- automatically adjusting an output of the audio output device based, at least in part, on the one or more additional audio settings
A method for automatically controlling an audio output device, comprising:
- detecting an audio occurrence in an environment;
- determining a current audio setting of the audio output device;
- determining whether the audio occurrence is associated with the current audio setting of the audio output device or whether the audio occurrence is associated with a different audio setting of the audio output device;
- and
- when it is determined that the audio occurrence is associated with the different audio setting, automatically adjusting an output of the audio output device to conform with the different audio setting of the output device.
