System and method for remotely controlling a device

A system for remotely controlling a target device, the system comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
• capturing a touch based action performed by a user on a transparent touch screen of a remote control device;
• determining the target device from a plurality of remotely controllable devices;
• determining an intent of the user with respect to the target device based on the touch based action;
• and
• controlling the target device based on the intent by transmitting a control signal to the target device.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions for:

• capturing a touch based action performed by a user on a transparent touch screen of a remote control device;
• determining the target device from a plurality of remotely controllable devices;
• determining an intent of the user with respect to the target device based on the touch based action;
• and
• controlling the target device based on the intent by transmitting a control signal to the target device.
