System and method for regulating condensation of flue gas in a steam generator

A combined cycle power generation plant that regulates condensation of a flue gas, the combined cycle power generation plant comprising:

• a primary generator that generates the flue gas by combusting a fuel;
• a heat recovery steam generator fluidly connected to the primary generator such that the flue gas flows from the primary generator to the heat recovery steam generator;
• one or more components disposed in at least one of the primary generator and the heat recovery steam generator, the one or more components configured to be in heating-contact with the flue gas;
• a temperature controller configured to control a temperature of the one or more components;
• a flue gas analyzer in communication with the temperature controller and configured to obtain a measurement of an acid-forming compound in the flue gas;
• and
• wherein the temperature controller adjusts the temperature of the one or more components based at least in part on the measurement such that the temperature of the one or more components is above an acid dew point of the flue gas when the one or more components are in heating-contact with the flue gas.
