An article comprising:
- a substrate;
- a nickel-free coating formed on the substrate, the coating comprising:
- a first metallic layer formed on the substrate, wherein the first metallic layer comprises silver;
- and
- a second metallic layer formed on the first metallic layer, the second metallic layer comprising rhodium.

A method of forming a coated article comprising
- electrodepositing a nickel-free coating on a substrate, wherein the coating comprises:
- a first metallic layer formed on the substrate, wherein the first metallic layer comprises silver;
- and
- a second metallic layer formed on the first metallic layer, the second metallic layer comprising rhodium.
