Method and apparatus for performing measurement in wireless communication system

A user equipment (UE), comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver, the processor configured to,
• receive a first measurement list from a base station, the first measurement list including one or more measurement candidates, and
• measure signal quality of at least some of the one or more measurement candidate independent of corresponding one or more first measurement periods, the one or more first measurement periods being periods determined for the at least some of the one or more measurement candidates.

A chip for wireless communication, comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver, the processor configured to,
• receive a measurement list from a base station, the measurement list including one or more measurement candidates, and
• measure signal quality of at least some of the one or more measurement candidates independent of corresponding one or more measurement periods, the one or more measurement periods being periods determined for the at least some of the one or more measurement candidates.
