Optical circuit switch

A method, comprising:

• receiving an input optical signal comprising a plurality of input components;
• mapping the plurality of input components to an intermediate optical signal;
• activating a plurality of ring resonators based on frequency groups of the intermediate optical signal;
• and
• converting the intermediate optical signal to an output optical signal comprising a plurality of output components corresponding to the plurality of input components based on a predefined control algorithm.

A system, comprising:

• two input 3×4 optical circuit switches to each receive three input signals comprising four input components and output three output signals with four components corresponding to the four input components based on a predefined control algorithm;
• three intermediate 2×4 optical circuit switches to each receive two intermediate input signals with four intermediate input components, wherein the two intermediate input signals are output signals from each of the two input 3×4 optical circuit switches, and output two intermediate output signals with four intermediate output components corresponding to the four intermediate input components based on the predefined control algorithm;
• and
• two output 3×4 optical circuit switches to each receive three final input signals comprising four final input components, wherein the three final input signals correspond are output signals from each of the three intermediate 2×4 optical circuit switches, and output three final output signals with four final components corresponding to the four final input components based on the predefined control algorithm,
• wherein components of the three final output signals correspond to components of the three input signals based on the predefined control algorithm.
