High efficiency signal field encoding structure

A wireless communication device, comprising:

• at least one memory that stores computer-executable instructions;
• and
• at least one processor configured to access the at least one memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
• encode a high-efficiency signal field for transmission on a first group of subchannels according to a first encoding process, and on a second group of subchannels on a second encoding process, and
• cause the high-efficiency signal field to be wirelessly transmitted to a first device over a wireless communications channel, wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to use no more than three encoding processes for the high-efficiency signal.
