Navigation by using instant messaging

A system for navigating comprising:

• one or more processors;
• one or more computer readable storage media coupled to at least one of the one or more processors;
• program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media for execution by at least one of the one or more processors, the program instructions comprising:
• in response to input on user equipment of a first member of a group who is travelling to a destination, program instructions to acquire current position information of the user equipment of the first member;
• and
• program instructions to send a first message to a server, wherein the first message includes the current position information indicating an area where the first member was when the first message was sent,
• wherein the first message is for directing a member of the group, who receives the first message when passing the area, to the same destination as the first member.

A computer program product for navigating, the computer program product comprising:

• one or more computer readable storage media and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more storage media, the program instructions comprising:
• in response to input on user equipment of a first member of a group who is travelling to a destination, program instructions to acquire current position information of the user equipment of the first member;
• and
• program instructions to send a first message to a server, wherein the first message includes the current position information indicating an area where the first member was when the first message was sent,
• wherein the first message is for directing a member of the group, who receives the first message when passing the area, to the same destination as the first member.
