Image pickup apparatus that shoots moving image for predetermined time period at the time of shooting still image, control method for the image pickup apparatus, and storage medium

A control method for an image pickup apparatus comprising having an image pickup unit, comprising:

• a receiving step of receiving a still image shooting instruction;
• a control step of, when a second still image shooting instruction has been received after a predetermined time period since a first still image shooting instruction was received in said receiving step, providing control to record, in a recording medium, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to the first still image shooting instruction, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to the second still image shooting instruction, a first moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the first still image shooting instruction, and a second moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the second still image shooting instruction;
• and
• a control step of, when a second still image shooting instruction has been received within the predetermined time period since a first still image shooting instruction was received in said receiving step, providing control to record, in the recording medium, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to a first still image shooting instruction, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to a second still image shooting instruction, and a moving image based on a moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the second still image shooting instruction from a moving image shooting starting timing corresponding to the first still image shooting instruction as a sequence of moving images.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a control method for an image pickup apparatus comprising having an image pickup unit, the control method for the image pickup apparatus comprising:

• a receiving step of receiving a still image shooting instruction;
• a control step of, when a second still image shooting instruction has been received after a predetermined time period since a first still image shooting instruction was received in said receiving step, providing control to record, in a recording medium, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to the first still image shooting instruction, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to the second still image shooting instruction, a first moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the first still image shooting instruction, and a second moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the second still image shooting instruction;
• and
• a control step of, when a second still image shooting instruction has been received within the predetermined time period since a first still image shooting instruction was received in the receiving step, providing control to record, in the recording medium, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to a first still image shooting instruction, a still image picked up by the image pickup unit in response to a second still image shooting instruction, and a moving image based on a moving image picked up by the image pickup unit before lapse of the predetermined time period after the second still image shooting instruction from a moving image shooting starting timing corresponding to the first still image shooting instruction as a sequence of moving images.
