Abstract
A positive electrode comprising ε-VOPO4 and/or Nax(ε-VOPO4) wherein x is a value from 0.1 to 1.0 as an active ingredient, wherein the electrode is capable of insertion and release of sodium ions and a reversible sodium battery containing the positive electrode are provided.
Claims31
A positive electrode comprising ε-VOPO4 as an active ingredient, wherein the electrode is capable of insertion and release of sodium ions.
A sodium ion electrochemical cell having a positive electrode comprising
- ε-VOPO4 as an active ingredient.
A reversible sodium battery comprising:
- an anode;
- a cathode;
- and
- an electrolyte comprising sodium ions;
- wherein the cathode comprises a current collector and an active material of formula (I):
- ε-VOPO4 (I).
A method to prepare the sodium insertion product of formula:
- Nax(ε-VOPO4)
- wherein x is a value from 0.1 to 1.0, the method comprising:
- electrochemical insertion of at least one sodium ion into ε-VOPO4.
