A lubricant additive comprising:
- a borazine compound represented by the following general formula (1):
- (In the formula (1), R1, R3, and R5 are each independently hydrogen, a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group, or a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group comprising a heteroatom other than sulfur and phosphorus;
- and R2, R4, and R6 are each independently hydrogen, a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group, or a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group comprising oxygen or boron or nitrogen.).
